Welcome BLUE RIDGE BICYCLE CLUB

Blue Ridge Bicycle Club Logo

A four-mile, scenic-loop of single-track riding combining strenuous climbs with exhilarating down hill descents will be available for mountain bike enthusiasts. The course will be suited for bikers of all skill levels. At specific times, the loop will be dedicated to hiking or trail running. Trails will be groomed and will feature scenic lookouts designed to maximize the vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Many rides start with Daylight Saving Time. For more information about these rides, please call or email the ride leader.

Helmets are required on all BRBC rides. All riders should also have a pump and a spare tube or patch kit for flats. If you can't change a tire yourself, someone will be glad to help!

TUESDAY MORNINGS: Casual Road Bike Ride

Usually begins at 10:15am at Liberty Bicycles.
Please call during the winter months as timing may be adjusted.
** EXCEPTION: First Tues. of each month this ride meets and leaves from Fletcher Park.
For folks who want to enjoy the company of others. Ride about 2 hours, 20-25 miles, no-one gets left behind.
No ride in inclement weather or if under 40 degrees.

THURSDAY MORNINGS: Fletcher Blue Sky Road Ride
Suspended until Spring, 2010 - Date TBD
Depart promptly at Noon from Fletcher Community Park, located on Howard Gap Road. A different route each week ranging from 20-35 miles, casual pace (13-15mph). Lunch afterwards at Blue Sky Café (or wherever!!) Please join us and bring a friend, everyone is welcome! No-one will be left behind.

SATURDAYS: Gary Arthur Ledges Road Ride (33-35mi)
Please contact the leaders for info on winter schedule
Ride along the French Broad River to Marshall for coffee. Return route includes Ivy Hill, Jupiter Rd to Flat Creek, New Stock and Monticello (See the Two Rivers cue sheet). Average speed 15-17 mph, distance 35-37 miles. Not a BRBC official ride, so rider assumes any risk. There's an occasional Sunday ride at varying times - check with the guys below to see if/when.


SUNDAY EVENINGS: Folk Art Center Road Ride
Suspended until Daylight Saving Time returns Spring, 2010
Meet 1:30pm at the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. This is a Show-n-Go ride which means there may not be a ride leader. Call or email Bill beforehand to check. The ride will take various routes, depending on the mood of the group. Pace will be about 12mph.
